Car Battery Jump-Start & Call-Out Service in Lahore — And When to Just Replace It

Why the car will not start — battery or something else

Before assuming the battery, rule out the simple things: is the gear in Park or Neutral, is the immobiliser light behaving normally, is there fuel? If the dashboard lights up but the engine only clicks or cranks slowly, it is the battery or its connections. If nothing lights up at all, it is a completely flat battery or a disconnected terminal. If the car cranks strongly but will not fire, the battery is fine and the problem is elsewhere.

When a jump-start is the right call

Jump-start and expect it to hold if:

• You left the headlights, cabin light or a door open overnight.
• The battery is less than about 2 years old and has been fine until now.
• The car has been sitting unused for a week or two.
• After the jump, the car starts instantly and the lights are bright at idle.

In these cases, drive the car for at least 30–40 minutes (or let the engine run that long) so the alternator can recharge the battery. A two-minute drive after a jump-start will leave it flat again.

When to stop jumping and replace it

Replace the battery, do not keep jump-starting, if:

• It will not restart after you switch the engine off.
• It cranks slowly again within a few hours or the next morning.
• The battery is more than 2–3 years old — normal life in Lahore’s heat.
• The case is swollen or bulging, or there is a rotten-egg smell.
• It has already been jump-started once or twice this week.

A battery at this stage has lost its ability to hold charge. Every jump-start is borrowed time and it will strand you again — usually at the worst moment.

Battery or alternator?

Quick test: after a successful jump-start, disconnect the jumper cables with the engine running. If the engine keeps running, the alternator is charging and the battery was just flat or weak. If the engine dies the moment the cables come off, the alternator is not charging and that is the real problem — a new battery alone will not fix it. 1. Send your live location and car model on WhatsApp, and say whether the car is at home or stuck on the road.
2. We tell you the ETA and, from your description, whether to expect a jump-start or a replacement.
3. The rider reaches you with a jump pack, tools and common battery sizes.
4. Jump-start done on the spot, or the old battery is swapped for a genuine new one, fitted and tested.
5. Warranty card and receipt handed over; old battery taken in exchange.

What it costs

A standalone daytime jump-start within Lahore carries only a small call-out charge, told to you upfront. If you decide to replace the battery, that charge is adjusted against the new battery and delivery and fitting are free. Late-night call-outs may carry a slightly higher rider charge, again quoted before the rider leaves.
